I Got to Drive an e39 5-series

And now I am in love. Yesterday my friend let me drive her e39 530i. The steering was absolutely wonderful and the ride was sublime. The car felt pretty bored at the speeds I was going but that's to be expected at only 40 mph. My favorite part though was the induction sound every time you hit the throttle. It was so addicting.

The e39 has always been on my list of cars I must own but after yesterday, the level of desire and want has maxed out.

I just got one and love it. The steering & ride is nuts, even my wife said its the nicest-to-drive car she has ever been in

Nice! If you get the chance, take an e39 M5 for a spin - the legends/stories are pretty accurate, it's an amazing car. I've actually never driven a non-M e39 but I can imagine it has to be pretty good too.
